Rachel Wilcox, our owner and lead Montessori teacher, graduated from Louisiana State University and has a Montessori teaching certificate from NCME in San Diego, California. She has been a Montessori teacher for the last 27 years and opened Lakeview Montessori in 2006.​ Rachel has been a member of Louisiana Montessori Association since 2006.

Lizzy Cousins, our assistant Montessori teacher, studied Early Childhood Education at Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated in 2019. Subsequently, she worked with children from the age of infant through first grade. Lizzie joined the LMMP staff in 2021.

Lakeview Maria Montessori Preschool is operated on a non-discriminatory basis and accepts children within enrollment limits, giving equal treatment and access to services without regard for race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin or ancestry. The school is not equipped, however to meet the needs of children who cannot benefit from a group experience.
