Our Staff

Rachel Wilcox, our owner and lead Montessori teacher, graduated from Louisiana State University in 1992. She received her Montessori teaching certificate from NCME in San Diego, California in 1995. She has been a Montessori teacher for the last 30 years. She opened Lakeview Maria Montessori Preschool in 2006 and is a member of Louisiana Montessori Association.

Lizzy Cousins, our assistant Montessori teacher, graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2019. She has worked in a variety of public and private school settings and joined the LMMP staff in 2021. She believes in the Montessori method and brings a strong language arts background into our environment.

Lakeview Maria Montessori Preschool is operated on a non-discriminatory basis and accepts children within enrollment limits, giving equal treatment and access to services without regard for race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin or ancestry. The school is not equipped, however to meet the needs of children who cannot benefit from a group experience.
